HOW IT WORKS

King County Metro now offers permits for carpoolers and solo-drivers who regularly drive to this park & ride lot to connect to public transportation services – buses, trains, vanpools and private carpools. Permit holders have exclusive access to marked permit parking areas at this location on weekdays between 4:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M.

Make your commute more reliable with the parking permit that’s best for you!

  1. Check out the permit options described below
  2. Complete the permit application process, and receive a permit in the mail
  3. Park in a marked spot reserved for permit holders weekdays between 4:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M.

New transit riders are welcome! Once a permit is issued, permit holder(s) must ride transit 12 weekdays each month to qualify for monthly renewal. For carpool permit holders, at least two carpool members must meet the ridership requirement. If ridership requirements are not met, permits will be revoked. Transit rides will be verified using each permit holder’s ORCA card, Vanpool ID or RideshareOnline.com email address.

TYPES OF PERMITS OFFERED

Carpool Permits (HOV): At least 2 people travel together to the lot

Groups of two or more commuters who regularly drive together to participating park & rides to connect to transit—including buses, trains, vanpools, and private carpools —are eligible to apply for carpool parking permits. Carpool permits are free of charge to eligible carpool groups.

Applicants must provide basic contact information and Transit Rider identification (such as ORCA card number, Vanpool ID, or RidershareOnline.com email address) for each member of the carpool. Carpool groups should identify a ‘carpool manager’ who will enter initial permit application information. Permit parking program staff will process this application and send confirmation to the carpool manager’s email address with instructions for submitting additional carpool participants’ information and completing the process. It is the responsibility of the carpool manager to update any carpool participant information online or by contacting Republic Parking over the phone at 253-327-1249, Monday-Friday from 8:00 A.M.- 5:00 P.M.

Solo Driver Permits (SOV): One person drives alone to the lot

Travelers who drive alone to participating park & rides to connect to transit—including buses, trains, vanpools, and private carpools —are eligible to apply for solo driver (SOV) parking permits.

Applicants must provide basic contact information and Transit Rider identification (such as ORCA card number, Vanpool ID, or RidershareOnline.com email address). Permit parking program staff will process the application and send confirmation via email with instructions for submitting payment information and completing the process. Pricing varies by park & ride lot – see below for pricing details. Low-income applicants may qualify for a discounted ORCA LIFT SOV permit.

ORCA LIFT/RRFP SOV Permits: For income-qualified drivers

Solo driver permits are available at a reduced price of $20/month to income-qualified travelers. To be qualified, the traveler must have either 1) a current ORCA LIFT reduced fare card or 2) a  Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) card and ALSO meet the household income requirements for participation in the ORCA LIFT program.

To view income qualifications, and to get one of these cards, visit:  ORCA LIFT Info or  Regional Reduced Fare Permit

Applicants must provide basic contact information and Transit Rider identification (such as ORCA card number, Vanpool ID, or RidershareOnline.com email address), and select qualifying ORCA card type (ORCA LIFT or RRFP).  All ORCA LIFT and RRFP applications must be verified by Metro. Permit parking program staff will process the application and send confirmation via email with instructions for submitting payment information and completing the process.
