How it Works

Groups of two or more commuters who regularly drive together to participating park-and rides to catch transit—including buses, trains, vanpools, and private carpools —are eligible to apply for carpool parking permits. Permits for this facility are free of charge to eligible carpool groups. Permits provide permit holders exclusive access to designated permit parking areas at this location on weekdays between 4:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

Applicants must provide basic contact information and Transit Rider identification (such as ORCA card number, Vanpool ID, or RidershareOnline.com email address) for each member of the carpool. Past transit ridership is not required. However, once a permit is issued, all carpool members’ future transit, vanpool, or carpool use will need to be verified. At least two carpool members must maintain 12 days of use per month to qualify for monthly permit renewals. If ridership requirements are not met, permits will be revoked.

It is the responsibility of the carpool manager to immediately update any carpool participant information online or over the phone. To update account information, to request a paper permit application, or for any other questions about the permit parking program, click Contact Us towards the top of this page or call Republic Parking at 206-783-4144, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Permit parking program staff will process your application, and send confirmation to the Carpool Manager’s email address with instructions for setting up a carpool permit member and payment account.

How to Apply

-Click ‘Apply Now for Monthly Parking’ in the section below

-Fill out the required information and click ‘Submit’

-Once the application has been approved, you will receive an email with your new account number. You will then provide the information for the other members of your carpool.

- When the above steps have been completed and your information successfully processed, you will be mailed your physical carpool permit. When parking in stalls reserved for permit holders, please display carpool permit in your vehicle as directed.

- ORCA information submitted AFTER the 20th day of the month will delay the start date of your application to the following permit period. For example: If a carpool member’s information is submitted on January 21st, the account will start on March 1st.

Please note: A second transit rider’s information is required for an account to be considered valid. Valid Transit Rider identification for each carpooler is required. By submitting your application, you acknowledge that King County Metro will check your ridership records to verify you meet minimum average ridership requirements for permit renewal.

For questions about the permit parking program, click Contact Us towards the top of this page, call Republic Parking at 206-783-4144, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or email transitriders@rpnw.com.
